End of the Year Projects with Technology

Looking for a project to end the school year? There are many engaging options incorporating technology. Here are a few ideas:
  1. Create and share a comic about your favorite school memories or events during the school year.
  2. Have each student create a virtual poster comparing himself/herself from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. Have students write about how he/she has changed physically, mentally, and academically this year.
  3. Have students leave behind advice for those who will follow in their footsteps or for their buddies.
    • iMovie or Podcast
  4. Students can create a Wordle using words to describe their favorite moments during the school year.
  5. Create a survey for students about their favorite events of the school year and graph the results.
    • Google Forms (each student has this in their Google Drive) or Create a Graph (as a class)
Email Elizabeth Leddy if you want to brainstorm ideas or need support implementing a project.

Spring Clean Your Phone

  1. Delete and Organize Apps: Less visual clutter will reduce visual overload
    • Delete apps you don't use
    • Put apps that aren't used frequently in folders
  2. Manage Photos and Music: Protect your photos by putting them in the cloud
    • Save photos and videos in albums
    • Delete unwanted photos
    • Transfer photos, videos and music to cloud storage
  3. Streamline To-Do Lists:
    • Create lists on your phone so you have access from various locations
    • Use one system to organize your notes (iPhone's Notes, Cozi, other other apps)
  4. Clean Up Contacts: Scroll through a letter of the alphabet each day and "clean up" your contacts
    • Update your contacts
    • Eliminate anyone you don't remember or need anymore
  5. Declutter Your Inbox: If your inbox is out of control, you'll be less like to respond to important emails
    • Unsubscribe from all of the newsletters and promotional emails you receive and don't need
    • Delete old, unwanted emails

Newspaper Clip Generator

This week’s tip features a website that allows you to generate your own bogus newspaper clippings that look amazingly authentic. Students could share a story about their weekend, write a story about the person they are researching for the biography tea, or share information from their research project. This is a fun way to show their learning.
